Internationalism is a defining characteristic of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Studying abroad provides a great opportunity to gather valuable intercultural experiences in a foreign country to complement the technical knowledge gained during your studies. Employers also look for international experience when vetting candidates for an entry-level career position.
Almost all our Bachelor's programmes and many Master's programmes include an integrated, compulsory stay abroad, to be completed during the standard duration of study. Students are free to choose what purpose their stay abroad should have, i.e. whether to study at a foreign university or complete an internship abroad.
One thing that makes it easier for our students to go abroad is the fact that they can generally choose from over 100 exchange programmes with our partner universities all over the world. At the same time, we are constantly working to enhance the study abroad opportunities, particularly for those enrolled in our Master's programmes. Conversely, many international students from our partner universities come to Passau to study here for a semester, which provides fresh impulses to student and academic life on campus.
